- The family of Sir Thomas More

- The room looks prosperous. It has
a panelled ceiling, the walls are covered with hangings and the
windows are glazed. A massive ornately canopied cupboard with
linenfold panels on the left is complimented by the porch entrance,
also with carved canopy and linenfold panels, and a pendulum
clock hangs on the wall. Despite the signs of wealth, comfort
is limited. Sir Thomas and his elderly father share a plain bench
settle and the rest of the family stand or sit on the floor.
There is a plank end stool being used as a reading desk and there's
a small footstool.
