Constructing a Mini Green House

Having a miniature green house in your garden enables you to begin gardening earlier. It will also keep your prized ornamentals growing longer into the fall. It costs little to be able to complete this type of home improvement project. The materials needed are readily available in any garden centre or hardware supply store and the project itself can be accomplished in the span of an afternoon.

Start by measuring the space in your garden bed where you plan to erect a mini greenhouse. Then, install six rebar stakes along the perimeter and corners of this area. Firmly hammer each one in place with the use of a mallet. Remember to place them directly across from one another.

Next, cut the copper tubing into sections that span the width of your greenhouse bed. Include an extra foot to each tube so that it can be bent and placed on the rebar posts. Ensure that each piece is shaped like an arch for your greenhouse.

Once the previous step is completed, attach the cooper tube to the stakes by sliding one end over the top of the rebar. To make it more stable, fasten the tubing with superglue. Proceed to cutting a sheet of clear or white plastic to cover your greenhouse. Ensure that an extra ten to twelve inches are left on each side so that it can be secured firmly to the ground.

Finally, place the bricks on each corner of the fabric and at several points along both sides of your greenhouse. Doing so will keep the plastic or tarp from getting blown off. You now have a place where you can shelter your growing vegetables and blossoms so that they can survive lower temperatures.
